Placement Policy

Placement Policy

The Training & Placement Cell (T&P) of SSIPMT Raipur plays a vital role in bridging the gap between academic learning and the professional world by facilitating student placements in reputed organizations. The following policy outlines the rules and regulations to be followed by all students eligible for placement assistance.

1. Objectives of the Placement Cell

The primary goal of the Training & Placement (T&P) Cell at SSIPMT is to provide maximum placement opportunities to eligible students by creating strong industry-academia partnerships. We firmly believe that placement is a by-product of effective training and that there is no shortage of jobs for well-trained and industry-ready students. The Training & Placement (T&P) Cell is dedicated to empowering students with the technical skills, professional ethics, and communication abilities required to thrive in the competitive job market.

The core objectives of the T&P Cell are:

  • To provide maximum placement and internship opportunities through strong collaboration with industry partners.
  • To organize skill-based training programs, aptitude and soft skills workshops, and industry-aligned certifications to enhance the employability of students.
  • To facilitate paid, full-time internships and guide students toward part-time or short- term industrial training that complements their academic schedule.
  • To prepare students with industry-related technical questions, coding challenges, and situational problem-solving based on current hiring trends.
  • To enable students’ access to world-class learning and assessment platforms (e.g., HackerEarth, NPTEL, AMCAT, CoCubes, SuperSet, CalyxPod, etc.) for skill benchmarking and performance tracking.

2. Eligibility Criteria

Only final-year and pre-final-year students enrolled in B. Tech, MBA, M. Tech., and Ph.D. programs are eligible to participate in campus recruitment drives organized by the institute.

3. Academic Performance Requirement

To be eligible for participating in recruitment drives (especially premier companies), students must have a minimum aggregate of 60% marks before appearing for the campus placement

4. Minimum Attendance Requirement

A student must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in all academic and training-related sessions to be eligible for any placement-related activity.

5. Voluntary Withdrawal from Placement

If a student is not interested in placement assistance, he/she is required to submit a written declaration to the T&P Cell stating their decision to opt out of the placement process.

6. Pre-Placement Preparation

Upon receiving a placement drive notification, students are expected to research the company through their official website and understand the job role, profile, and eligibility. This knowledge will enhance their performance in Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.

7. Submission of Resume

Students must submit an updated resume in Microsoft Word format (.doc) to the concerned faculty coordinator or T&P cell when asked. The filename must follow this format:

Batch_CollegeRollNumber_Name

No resumes in other formats or incorrect naming conventions will be accepted.

8. Placement Attempts and Offers

Each student will be allowed a maximum of four attempts in placement drives. After securing one job offer, the student will be considered placed and will no longer be allowed to participate in any further placement drives through the college.

9. Compulsory Joining Post Selection

Once a student receives a job offer through campus recruitment, it is mandatory to join the organization. The student must serve for at least six months before making any further employment changes.

10. Declining an Offer

In case a student does not wish to join the company after being selected, he/she must inform the T&P cell in writing with valid reasons. Unprofessional behavior in this regard will lead to disqualification from all further placement activities.

11. Absenteeism in Drives

Any student who fails to attend a placement drive after registering, without proper prior intimation, will be debarred from participating in the next three drives.

12. Mandatory Participation for Shortlisted Students

Once a student is shortlisted by a company, it is compulsory to participate in all stages of the recruitment process. No-shows or last-minute withdrawals will result in disqualification from further placement assistance.

13. Professional Conduct Expectations

Students must maintain professional behavior throughout the placement process. Any of the following misconducts will lead to immediate disqualification:

  • Negative comments about the company or college.
  • Misrepresentation or manipulation of resume details.
  • Speaking out of turn or misbehaving with company officials or T&P staff.
  • Asking inappropriate or irrelevant questions during interactions.
  • Tampering with another student’s placement opportunity.

14. Dress Code for Placement Activities

Students must adhere to a formal dress code during all placement drives. They must report with:

  • Hard copy of the updated resume.
  • Two recent passport-size photographs.
  • Photocopies of academic and identity documents (self-attested).

15. Multiple Offers Handling

If a student receives multiple job offers, he/she must communicate their final decision to the T&P cell in writing before completing the academic program, so the offer can be formally confirmed to the employer.

16. Location of Posting

The job location is decided solely by the recruiter. The institute does not intervene in the posting decisions. Students must be willing to relocate anywhere within India (PAN India) as per the employer’s requirement.

17. Post-Placement Conduct

Students who have been placed are still expected to maintain discipline and follow all institute regulations until the end of the academic term. Any misconduct can result in the withdrawal of placement privileges.

18. Placement Process Communication

All placement-related information, queries, or grievances should be directed only to the authorized Placement Officer. Students must refrain from contacting companies directly unless instructed.

19. Internship Guidelines

Only paid full-time internships offering a stipend of ₹10,000 or more per month will be officially recognized and permitted during the academic session. Companies offering less than ₹10,000 may engage students for part-time or short-term internships, which must be scheduled after regular class hours and should not interfere with academic responsibilities. All such internships must be approved by the T&P Cell in coordination with the concerned department.
